School Exchange - Queenwood

School Exchange

Enriched by experience abroad.

Queenwood has an active school exchange program in which girls studying another language live overseas and attend school in another country for a period of time.

Language exchanges suit students in Years 10 and 11 who have the maturity to manage life with another family in a foreign country.

Exchanges usually occur for 4 weeks in the final term of Year 10. Each year girls are invited to participate in a variety of tours that will allow them to encounter unique and often remote areas of the world.

Please note: Specific tours and immersions evolve and change. A program for each year is sent to parents once confirmed.

The following exchanges are supported by Queenwood:

Blanche de Castille, France

In 2011, Queenwood commenced a partnership with the College Blanche de Castille near Paris, under which Year 10 students are hosted locally and attend the school to develop their French speaking skills.

St Peter’s School, New Zealand

Year 9 students can apply to go on exchange to St Peters School in New Zealand. Girls wishing to be considered for this program need to write a letter of application and participate in an interview with the Year 9 Coordinator and the Deputy Principal. This exchange provides a unique opportunity for the girls to experience life in a co-educational rural school in New Zealand.

Cheltenham Ladies College, England

In 2015, Queenwood commenced a partnership with the Cheltenham Ladies College in England, under which Year 10 students are hosted locally and attend the school to develop cultural links.

Soshin High School, Japan

Soshin High School, Yokohama is our sister school and Year 10 Queenwood students have an opportunity to study at the school for 3 weeks in January every year.
