Cocurricular

A breadth of expression, lighting her path.

By working with others in teams and ensembles, girls develop teamwork, leadership skills and enduring friendships.

What's on offer

Queenwood offers an extensive cocurricular program, so each girl can explore her interests and come to know herself. As they learn about themselves they often light the fires of a lifelong commitment.

Queenwood values the enthusiasm of the novice, the dedication of the elite performer and everything in between. We have outstanding facilities and highly qualified staff dedicating to getting the best out of every girl. With afternoon sport, weekend fixtures, House activities, clubs, camps, ensembles, trips and excursions there is something for everyone.

All girls learn music in Years 7 and 8, participate in our annual House Music Festival and have many opportunities to sing and play in dozens of choirs, orchestras and ensembles tailored each year to suit the interests of girls of all ages.

The drama program begins in the curriculum from Kindergarten upwards and there is a wide range of clubs, productions and opportunities to perform each year. Additional activities include Chess, Dance, Debating, Public-Speaking, Robotics & Engineering and many others.

The Arts

Artistic workspace with paint and tools

We encourage and foster in our girls a commitment to the arts. Each girl has the opportunity to express herself creatively, cultivate self-awareness and deepen her understanding of others.

As she engages with the art and artefacts of different times and cultures, she learns about the world and her place in it.

Through exploring the implicit spiritual and moral relationships between the artist, artwork, observer and culture, she comes to appreciate the importance of the uniquely human creative response.

Technology & Engineering

Trained engineers supervise our Advanced Technologies and Engineering program.

Girls work on carefully designed projects in a non-selective, fun environment as part of the cocurricular offer in the School. Some of the projects include Lego Robotics, Minisprint Solar Racing, Maker Club and QUTE Electric Vehicle Project.
